FAQs

Do you have questions or concerns? Here we've compiled some of the most common questions digital platform hosts regularly ask about our project.

  • What is StrikeOn?
StrikeOn is part of the International Driver's Community project. With this tool, we seek to unite, organize, educate, and prepare drivers to lobby for and seek change across all ride and delivery platforms.
  • Who created StrikeOn?
We are a group of drivers of different nationalities who decided to organize in October 2023. Many of us were and continue to be drivers for different platforms. Some of us started in 2014 and others in 2015.
  • Why was StrikeOn created?
The StrikeOn project arose from a lengthy study and analysis we conducted on existing problems, the disadvantages we drivers face, and how we could counteract the damage caused by regular social media. We also came to understand the importance and power of organizing a large number of drivers, especially if it can be done virtually using a tool like this. If this project is handled correctly, it can become the ideal opportunity to bring about changes across all business applications.
  • How is this project structured legally?
StrikeOn is a virtual tool, legally registered in the state of Florida, with several purposes: Educate drivers Unite drivers Organize drivers Prepare drivers Fight for change International Driver's Community, also registered in Florida, operates as a non-profit organization. This project seeks to legally represent drivers, utilizing legal counsel from attorneys and analysts to bring about changes to the business. This project includes several drivers from various platforms, with experience and knowledge in professional areas, who have conducted an extensive study of the changes needed in this business for it to function as it should. The changes this organization seeks will always exceed drivers' expectations.
  • What does the StrikeOn app offer drivers?
StrikeOn offers a space free of contaminated information, people trying to steal from drivers, negative influence, and people taking advantage of the needs and problems of many drivers. It also offers other tools that we consider necessary for many drivers, such as: A support channel to answer questions or concerns News related solely to the business we operate Educational videos and documentaries Sweepstakes Social media and local alerts Job opportunities within the StrikeOn project and the International Driver's Community Access to discounts on memberships and services with third-party companies A product store for the business we operate The tool we consider the most important in this application is called "Protest." This tool allows us to send all users who have the application installed a real-time alert calling for a mass shutdown of all ride and delivery apps. Having this power in our hands is what can find the balance we need to pursue the necessary changes.
  • Is it mandatory to pay for the application membership?
No. It's not mandatory, but it is necessary. For the project to operate at its full capacity, it is necessary to hire and pay people who will be in charge of running the app. It is also important to hire lawyers to advise us throughout our journey. Finally, membership payments allow us to scale and expand the project. It was decided not to make membership mandatory because seeking changes in the ride-sharing and delivery business is something we must do out of conscience, not through imposition. Every person who makes the decision to pay for the membership does so because they believe in the project and because they want to support us in trying to bring about change. Users will have access to several areas of the app once they pay for the membership. These areas are not displayed without first paying the membership. Some of these options are their country's social network, participation in sweepstakes, among others. All difficult problems require complex solutions, sacrifice, dedication, and resources. It is essential to understand that this project seeks to fight extremely powerful companies, but we know that the greatest power lies with the drivers.
  • Can I cancel my membership whenever I want?
Yes. The process for canceling your membership is very easy. This was done to give drivers the option to withdraw from the project whenever they wish without facing too much hassle.
  • Can I delete my StrikeOn account whenever I want?
Yes. This process is quite simple. We offer the option to easily delete your account, as we don't seek to hold people against their will using a complex deletion process.
  • Is there a risk that a company could identify me?
No. The StrikeOn project does not share information with any company, nor will it do so in the future. Our project seeks to operate anonymously and respect the right to privacy that users demand. Let's take an example. If Uber decides to investigate our app, they have no way of identifying users unless the user chooses to publish personal information that could be used to identify them. These actions are now beyond our control. StrikeOn was created with the aim of providing a safe virtual space for all drivers, seeking to avoid retaliation against drivers who decide to fight for change.
  • Who handles the membership payment process?
Membership payments are handled by Wix, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and Stripe.com We do not have access to user card information.
  • What information does the StrikeOn app handle?
Our project was designed to work with basic information. We do not ask for or handle vital information such as: Name Mailing address Social Security number Driver's license number Phone number Date of birth Our social network does ask for certain information, which drivers are free to use as they wish, such as a nickname, avatar image, etc. The social network even provides users with the option to set their profile to Anonymous mode. This can be found in the profile settings. The information collected during the membership payment process is NOT stored on StrikeOn servers is NOT used to identify StrikeOn users is NOT publicly displayed on user profiles
  • What job opportunities does StrikeOn offer for drivers?
We decided that for any future job openings, it would be best to hire drivers with experience in various professions, such as: IT Systems Management Accounting Marketing Customer Service Event Coordination and Management Audiovisual Content Creation Human Resources Business Administration If we need to hire people, the best option would be to give the opportunity to the drivers themselves, as they have sufficient knowledge of this market. Positions that become available will be displayed in the "StrikeOn Jobs" section of the app.
  • What changes does this project seek to achieve?
We can't address all the issues in this space regarding the changes needed in the Ride-share and Delivery business, but we'll mention a few. A fair profit split of 20% for the Ride-share company and 80% for drivers. A regulated process to prevent unfair deactivation of driver accounts. Minimum pay per mile and per minute for Ride-share drivers. Improve pay for Delivery service drivers. Stop political lobbying by companies. Have companies audited to stop tip mishandling. Have a non-governmental entity represent drivers' interests. Resolve the issue of Commercial Auto Insurance costs. Limit the number of drivers who can operate per city. Prevent drivers from being viewed as employees. These are some of the changes we seek to fight for with the support of all drivers.
  • What is the difference between StrikeOn and Unions?
Unions are seeking changes that are far removed from what drivers truly need. Some of the changes unions are fighting for, and those we consider irrational, include: Vision insurance Minimum hourly wage Paid vacation Paid sick days Being classified as employees We worked with unions for some time. We learned about their interests and goals. When we realized we weren't aligned with what they were seeking to achieve, we walked away. In our personal and professional opinion, unions don't seek the best options for drivers; they seek the best option for themselves. Unions seek bargaining power and keep drivers tied to a constant need. Another example where we disagree is that unions sell their users' personal information to other organizations. At StrikeOn, we spent some time studying and understanding what the best changes drivers need are, and it isn't any of the ones mentioned above. Drivers put in all the necessary resources, including a large investment and risks, which prevents them from being considered employees. For a driver to be considered an employee, the company must provide a car, fuel, car insurance, and cover all car expenses. Drivers must have the freedom and the ability to generate enough income to cover vision problems, vacation days, sick days, and generate an economic profit based on their resources, ability, and effort. The Ride-share business is completely similar to the taxi business in terms of operating concept. Taxis and Ride-share drivers move people from point A to point B. The taxi business was never a W2 job. We fight for economic freedom and economic protection. Drivers earn what they are able to generate, but from a protected market where the value of the business does not depend on the manipulation or control of companies.
  • Are there going to be protests organized by StrikeOn?
From our perspective, holding protests is obsolete and has many limitations. For example, organizing numerous people to hold a physical protest requires a lot of work, and even then, there's no guarantee that people will actually participate. The other limitation is that holding a physical protest must be managed at the local level for it to work. Another important fact is that drivers no longer believe in protests. At StrikeOn, we believe that to achieve something that has the weight and force required, we must first create tools that allow us to connect with people in real time and virtually. These tools or resources Expand the scope and management of information Share quality information with drivers Provide resources that help drivers better understand the business they operate in Enable mass communication between drivers Provide support to drivers to answer their questions or concerns Allow drivers to organize and prepare This application also provides an alert system that will be used to call for protests, but in a different way. Protesting doesn't require taking to the streets and causing a scene or stopping traffic. The way we propose protesting is by sending an alert to all drivers who have the app installed, nationwide, asking them to turn off all their apps, whether ride-hailing or delivery. This is a way to put pressure on companies to seek business improvements. We seek to apply pressure by implementing a system that connects all drivers in real time. Nothing more effective than that exists.
